By Ngozi Onyeakusi– Junior Imaji, Pro-Gamer has emerged the overall winner in OLED TV Gaming Challenge season seven.
Junior Imaji, Pro-Gamer, who smiled home with a cash prize of N1 million, outshines other contestants to bag the first position at the grand finale and prize giving ceremony of the game held on Saturday at Eco Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, where LG thrilled its teeming customers with its newest OLED TVs which offer blazing speed and stunning colour reproduction through NVIDIA G-SYNC.
Speaking at the event, the General Manager, Home Entertainment Division, LG Electronics West Africa, Vanjamin Kim stated the LG Electronics initiated OLED Gaming Challenge for lovers of video game to demonstrate the beauty and the uniqueness of the ‘depth of black’ in OLED TV, especially when gaming on it.

According to him, Video gamers have been a large and growing part of the firms culture for a long time. “Whether you are eagerly awaiting the next Call of Duty release or trying to beat the next level of Candy Crush on your lunch break, you are part of the gaming world. Over the years this world has had to deal with a lot of stereotypes and false claims. Just as physical exercise helps in improving and strengthening your muscles, cognitive games help to indulge one’s brain in constant stimulation, thus improving the brain’s performance”, he said.

He noted that LG OLED Gaming challenge was one of the biggest e-sports competition in Nigeria, adding that part of the brand strategy, LG has initiated this platform for young minds by channelling their positive energy towards intellectual enhancement and innovation to further equip and keep them abreast of technological innovations globally.

He said, “The grand finale event of LG OLED Gaming challenge has today gathered winners of the game competition which has been held in Nigeria’s major cities since last year. LG’s OLED TV Gaming has staged 6 seasons with over 600 entries received online.

Also speaking at the event, the Head of Corporate Marketing, LG Electronics West Africa Mr. Hari Elluru, also added, “the addition of NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatibility raises the bar once more, guaranteeing even more immersive big-screen PC gaming on the company’s industry-leading 4K OLED models, available in 55 to 77 inch screen sizes. G-Sync and other VRR technologies help eliminate flicker, tearing or stuttering on displays when used to play games that are built using VRR”.

The company’s latest OLED TV models support a variety of popular HDR formats that further elevate the gaming experience. Users can play compatible titles in dynamic HDR10 or Dolby Vision (at up to 120 frames per second for Full HD content) taking advantage of HDMI 2.1 specifications such as auto low latency mode (ALLM), enhanced audio return channel (eARC), and variable refresh rate (VRR).

“With the G-SYNC firmware there is no lagging, tearing or stuttering while playing super-fast Games and watching fast moving contents”, he mentioned.
